Kev Marlow
Kev started off his musical career in 1981 with the Band the Jumpin' Jacks which featured Rusti Steel, Pete Colley, Mick Colley, the band went their separate ways with Kev and Mick forming The Baskervilles which featured Pete Turland on the Doublebass who was later joined by Darrel Higham on Guitar, the band performed all over the country with many shows in London at venues such as The Clay Pigeon and Dingwalls, as well as supporting top named bands in the 80's such as The Keytones and The Jets on multiple occasions, after The Baskervilles finished.... Kev, Pete, Mick and Stu were then in The Alphabets who had a TV Appearance, released an album on RockHouse Records plus released several tracks on Fury Records and many concerts all over the UK and shows in Europe. Kev then formed a band called The TopCats which featured Andy Osborne on Drums and Chris Willis on the Doublebass and played local gigs for several years, Kev then took 11 years off gigging to bring up his Son Dion Marlow. 2008 came with Dion being old enough they both decided to start up a band together called Rockin'em and ever since 2008 the band having going from strength to strength gaining fans all over the world after 40+ Gigs a year in the UK and across Europe.
Kev has a wide interest into Rock'n'Roll with all styles of R'n'R liked such as Doo Wop, Rockabilly and with his main influence being Elvis Presley, Kev has a distinctive voice and it has often been said that Kev has a resemblance to Elvis's voice without trying to be like Elvis. Kev also likes vocal harmony groups such as The Crew Cuts. Kev is a very talented songwriter, many of his originals have been picked out by people such as World Championship Jivers who use 'Crying Over You' as their competition song, another original has been featured on a TV Appearance plus many plays on BBC Radio show of other originals, many of his originals are being played today with Rockin'Em, Kev is continuing to write more toe tapping material as you read this.
Kev has a very active part of the band, sorting the arrangements of songs, preparing the Equipment, Recording with Dion as well as working daily on jobs that need doing for the band & Maybe the hardest job of all, Kev does all of the driving to and from every gig the band has done ! He secretly loves it ...
