Dion Marlow
Dion grew up with Rock'n'Roll Music all of his life, having a musical background with his father Kev Marlow who has been on the Rock'n'Roll scene for 30 + years. Dion started playing the Double bass ever since seeing The Jets Live on Stage at the age of 6, ever since that night he has been hooked to the Rock'n'Roll scene. Ever since Dion started playing the Double bass he has wanted to keep bettering himself musically, with influences from Jimmy Sutton, Bob Cotton, Jarrod Coombes and Martyn Savage, Dion has learnt a lot from seeing all of these fellow Double bass players live and as a result of the influences, the hard work and practices plus the 40+ Live gigs each year across the UK & Europe, Dion has been lucky enough to have played on stage with The Keytones, The Jets, The Jive Aces, Wildfire Willy he also has played backstage with Darrel Higham, The Stargazers and Phil Haley & The Comments. Dion is endorsed by the bass pickups he uses on stage which are K&K Pickups.

Dion is influenced by a lot of bands the main group being The Keytones, with their incredible Talent & Harmonies. Musically Dion enjoys anything from Original Doo Wop to Rockabilly to Country music. Artists Dion likes includes The Skyliners ( Having performed alongside them in Italy 2017), The Keytones, The Jets, JD McPherson, The Bellfuries, The Jive Aces and Junior Brown.
Dion has a significant role in dealing with the bookings for the band alongside his mother Lisa Marlow. Another role he undertakes is the bands Sound Engineer, with a passion for working with Live & Studio sound he is in his element doing the Sound at each gig and working alongside his Father, Kev Marlow in the recording studio. As well as playing the Double Bass, Dion also plays a variety of other instruments such as Guitar, Drums and Piano, which can be heard on some of the recordings by Rockin'Em. |
